Adulting

Assalamualaikum people!

When did you realise that you are an adult? I have known for quite some time that I am an adult and I hold full responsibility on my actions. It is nerve-wrecking knowing that your parents cannot answer for you anymore but it is what life is. You are on your own except for The Almighty. Anyway, yesterday I was once more slapped by the reality of being an adult. I bought my first telekung, ever.

Growing up, my mother basically sewed everything for us, the whole family. Baju kurung, school uniform, the white tudung you wear to school, baju raya, short pants and of course, telekung for prayers or as my family always calls it, baju sembahyang. I love her style of sewing in the face part where the telekung fitted my face nicely and all the white fluffy pretty lace. I remember the makcik cleaners in my primary school asking about my telekung because they said it is so pretty and look very neat in the face area. Anyway, I always love white telekung because it symbolises purity and calmness. My mother thought so too. I never bought any telekung because I love the ones that my mother sewed for us. 

However, as my mother grew older, she picked up new hobby - trying out new telekung from various brands. I don't understand this because she already has a hobby which is just as money consuming which is collecting Tupperware. My mother is really like lot of Malay mothers in Malaysia. Telekung and Tupperware. They can never be separated. But what my mother said also make me see the light -  if you are willing to spend more than RM100 on your daily outfit, why not buy some pretty, expensive and comfortable telekung to see your God? Okay mi madre, you win. 

With her new hobby, she slowed down on sewing telekung and finally stopped. I used whatever telekung she bought for me because she knew the best. Most of my mother's choice of telekung are usually of cotton. Both of us are suckers for cotton fabric because cotton is always the best for everything, except for swimming suit. Wait, what? Whatever. I missed wearing cotton telekung sewed by my mother but I know she won't sew it anymore. T__T

Now I am 23 years old and I have finally bought my first telekung using my own money! LOL like that's a big deal. Well, big enough for me since I have been wearing telekung made by mother or bought by my mother. Hehe. My first telekung is of course made from cotton and white in colour. Like I would opt for any other colours, lewls. I got mine from here! Lemme share some pictures of it.

I don't know that it will come in such hard, magnetic box given the cheap price for a cotton telekung. I like it anyway. And oh, very suitable as a gift.

I think for every purchase, they will give mini notebook and tasbih digital. Again, such generosity for such affordable and cheap price. *insert doge meme*

The face area of the telekung. For the chin area, they use lycra so it stretches and more comfortable for the wearer. The sewing quality is very neat for me. No loose thread can be found. It is very comfortable when you wear and the best part is, the telekung has thicker layer from the head to the chest. I loooooove it! Not sheer at all and you don't have to worry about your hair or ears could be seen by others. Yeayy! 

They have few other designs, but of course, being a boring and plain person, I opted for this basic telekung. I like the think simple lace adorning this telekung because this is all I need for a telekung hehe. Sewed very neat onto the telekung body too. Of course, I love the telekung with sulam tebuk design but well, I can't afford such thing now.

I am very happy with my purchase but I was also a bit melancholic and nostalgic because telekung is something that I always relate to my mother. Realising that I will become an adult with bought telekung, not sewed by her made me feel like I lost something. But, I will always cherish the memories. But if buying telekung means I can experiment with different materials and designs, hehe I am happy to do that too (This is wrong by the way. Don't waste your money!)

Bukit Merah

Assalamualaikum people!

I don't know how many times we have been planning, dreaming and talking about visiting our dear Bibso in Bukit Merah before we finally did it. If it was a free scale marathon, we could have been walking up to Hungary by now given the length of our discussion about our visit to Bukit Merah. Now, our Bibso is a lecturer at a college in Bukit Merah, so she rented a house and we are purposely visiting her to wreck her house (which we did very excellently). Three of us (Na, Anum and me) decided to visit her some time in July. Sadly, Na was back in Cambodia for teaching and that left me with Anum the melancholic girl.

We dreamed of riding the train all the way to Kamunting but the ticket actually costed us an almost return trip to our dear hometown. So, we took the bus. Anum had a series of mishaps to reach TBS but honestly, that story deserves one whole different post. XD. We boarded the bus to Kamunting at 2.45 pm. The driver was very careful, maybe a bit too  careful that he became slow -.-. The traffic was fine and we took a bit longer than 4 hours to reach Kamunting. Bibso was late and we had our light dinner by the burger stand. By light I mean that I had a double special burger. Hihi.

Bibi finally came and picked us up. Guess where we went first? Yup that's right, Aeon Taiping! LOL like we had never been in Aeon, right? But it was special because we were with Bibi. We actually went there to withdraw some money and ended up spending our money in Watson and MR DIY. Anum actually bought a pack of hooks in MR DIY. Imagine going to Bukit Merah to shop for some hooks. Anum, you are actually living a luxurious lifestyle. Not even Rihanna goes to different region to buy some bloody hooks. *throw pom-poms*

Then we went to Kamiria for late dinner and chatted about Bibs' new guy. We decided to call it a night and went home. The night was not really over. We reached Bibs' house to continue chatting and taking turn for showers. I was excited with all the chats but also nervous for my result. It was way too long but we continued until our voices were hoarse. The next two days were packed with activities so lemme share with you some pictures of us.

Our first picture together by the abandoned pool in Bibi's apartment. 

This is Bibi whose house we wrecked and trashed. She drove us around and treated us for lunch. Be like Bibi.

This is Anum. She had some mishaps on her way to TBS but she still smiled. Be like Anum. She slept during (almost the whole) journey to Ipoh. I have changed my mind, don't be like Anum. Haha.

We all wanted to eat the famous Nasi Ganja at the Yong Suan restaurant but by the time we reached Ipoh, it was almost 12 pm and the queue in front of the shop was quite long. Ini boleh menimbulkan amarah dan ketidakadilan kepada organ perut. So we decided to eat at the M.Salim shop and it was goooooood! I picked some squids and chicken with some gravy. No regret at all.

Bibso and me in Family Bundle, Ipoh. We bought two matching hats for RM3 each. We don't know when and where we will be using these hats but we did know that we have to buy them. 

There are like half of my purchase at the bundle. I got two flannel shirts, one chiffon cardigan, one sleeveless cotton top, one pair of jeans, two long sleeves t-shirts, one track bottom, one short sleeve t-shirt, one boxer (too big for my brother but it was so cute with onions, capsicum and aubergines on it so I just have to buy it lol) and of course the black hat. All for RM 53.00. I LOVE THRIFT SHOPS! Thank you Bibso, I will forever enjoy this. 

On our way back to Bukit Merah from Ipoh, we went to eat Mee Udang! So delicious. Anum recommended it to us and we are grateful for such awesome taste. A plate of goodness for RM 7.00. Wait, lemme share the close-up of this goddess.

LOOK. AT. THAT. *telan air liur* I literally finished the plate of mee udang under 10 minutes. The udangs were fat, like me. Heheh.

On the way home, we sang our hearts out to jiwang songs. Anum surprisingly knows lot of jiwang songs. We agreed that she has been dumped so many times that she spent her time looking for jiwang songs that sing her feelings best. Miahaha. We went back to Bibs' house and played few rounds of Charades. Again, Anum surprised us both with her skills. She SUCK at Charades. I'll give you few situations.

Our last morning, we had a small picnic! We had sandwiches, orange juice and drummets. I got pooped on by the bird too bu thank god, the poop did not get into any food. We ate and played some more rounds of Charades. We did kind of well in different categories and went back because it was getting hotter and we could feel the sun on our backs.

Just as quickly, it was time for us to go home. We packed our stuff after the picnic, showered and tidied up a bit. We decided to eat at the same restaurant where we had our first dinner because it was sooo gooooood. We had another laughs in the car on the journey to the restaurant.

These all plus five drinks and three plates of rice, amounted to RM 35++. The portion were all generous. We ordered the tomyam for two pax but it was a lot that we were left with plenty of leftovers and we ratah all the dishes lavishly. We all vowed to eat at the restaurant if we ever come to Kamunting again.

Then we went to Kamunting bus station with heavy hearts. It was sad to part ways but we all have different life we can't simply follow our hearts anymore. But we promised to make time for another visit and try more food. I actually have left my toothbrush in Bib's place in advance. Mihmihmih.

I have no more stuff to be rambled about so I will just make my stop here.

Grumpy Grunt

Assalamualaikum people!

It's been so long since I have written anything for pleasure. Life is just so hectic at the moment and I have realised that all the stuff my lecturers said are nothing but truth. Cold, hard truth. 

"You are not a human if you do your postgrad study and you don't even cry once about it" - Prof Juliana.

I always thought that I am very good at calming myself down, working under stress and also balancing all the responsibilities in my life. These all were before I decided to continue Master anyway. I have been told by many people that I am living an easy life, I am never sad or stressed and how little of problems I have. These are all true. Were. Now that I am in my second semester (Thank you Allah for granting my prayers to pass the first semester!), I now know that I am a messy depressed lump of fat walking the earth. Life. Is. So. Hard. 

Next semester will be the long-awaited-moment (NOT) for me to complete the thesis. Freaking uni lied about coursework mode! Urghhh. So this semester, all the second semester students got to prepare the research proposal. My title and all the ROs and RQs were approved in the first presentation. Alhamdulillah. So I went ahead for Chapter 2 and currently working on my Chapter 3.

Now, last week I went to see my tutor and out of nowhere he said my title is not approved. Why. Are. You. Like. This. Dr. I was praised for coming out with a research idea that no one has ever looked into. After two months (and two drafts that I literally sweat my ass off to complete), my darling handsome gentle wise lecturer decided that it is not approved and not worth to be researched. This means that I have to think again about the objectives, the questions, the problems I want to address and all the related theories.

Seriously Dr?

Sooo, like it or not. I have to amend lot of things in my drafts. More like redoing it actually. And it is troublesome because I have other mini researches to be completed too. I have not analyse the data for other mini researches and not to mention study for three upcoming tests. And I have less than three weeks to have all these tied together. For the first time in my life, I am stressed out. I have constant headaches, my hair fall like it's freaking autumn up there, I got anxious for no reasons and I don't eat like how I used to which is bad because I want to lose weight and now I mostly eat whatever consume the least time which lead to me chomping on biscuits or sweet buns which are unhealthy, I know.

Now, with all the works I have, the stupidity in me decide to come out.

I downloaded three new games - Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Fight List and Fun Run 3. I am already occupied with Toy Blast and Home Design. I got addicted easily and very determined to score the best. Fight List especially, is my kind of games. I spent hours everyday on it, challenging any available opponents. I am so stupid. I should have known myself better and download all that games after this semester ends.

I really can't wait to end this semester but at the same time I am really afraid if I could not make it through. Whatever it is, life is a gamble and I already feel better by ranting about the hustle I am having now. And I always remind myself that lot of people have it harder. My friends who are doing engineering or medical study will be ten times more stressful than I am. All the best y'all!

Since I feel happier and more at ease now, I will go back to reading and writing for my research proposal and also my other mini researches. I gotta finish that shit up and reward myself with lot of good books later. Stay happy and healthy, everyone!

Blogging 101: Simple Photo Editing

Assalamualaikum people!

One of my customers, Kak Ita asked me how to design the photo I put on the sidebar of the blogs I designed. I promised her that I will do a step-by-step tutorial to decorate the sidebar. Okay, first of all, semua tahu ya apa itu sidebar? Sidebar tu column dekat tepi yang ada tulis profile kita, followers, archive and etc etc. Jadi dekat sidebar ni kita boleh letak loads of widgets untuk cantikkan blog. Those bloggers yang ada menjual dekat blog (like me hehehe) boleh lah letak widgets yang memudahkan customers untuk beli barang. So tutorial today will be covering simple photo editing untuk diletakkan di sidebar. 

Untuk buat photo editing, I always use my laptop sebabnya tak best guna phone haha. Nak edit gambar kena ada photo editing application. I suggest you all to use Photoscape. Sebabnya Photoscape ni simple and has everything we need to do simple editing. I use Adobe Photoshop as well (for headers) tapi I myself am not pro enough to do Photoshop tutorial haha. And then, kena ada gambar yang y'allnak letak. Contohnya nak buat gambar untuk sidebar tu pasal supplement. So boleh lah cari gambar botol supplement or logo or anything related. Then, you are good to go. Jadi ingat, ada dua perkara. Satu, Photoscape. Dua, gambor yang y'all nak tepek. Seterusnya, boleh lah bukak Photoscape ittew.

1. Bukak application Photoscape

Nampak yang dalam petak kuning ittew? Ya, temen temen. Click situ.

 2.Click Menu 

Cari petang kuning lagi yang ada tulis 'Menu'. Click 'Menu'. Petak kuning dalam gambor ni tau. Jangan buat terokk cari petak kuning dekat application Photoscape tu. Juling bijik mata pun belum tentu jumpa. 

 3. Choose New Photo

Kemudian, click 'New Photo'.

 4. Set Photo Size

Seterusnya, tentukan saiz gambor ye. Terpulang la pada y'all nak buat square ke, rectangle. Tapi jangan mimpilah nak buat octagon or hexagon. Nan hado. Lepas dah masukkan value for width and height and pilih colour, click 'OK'. Then, dia akan keluor la petak putih kosong (sebab I chose white colour heheh) bersaiz yang dikehendaki. Petak ni la canvas/kawasan kita untuk letak or design apa apa yang kita nak. Apa yang boleh diletak dalam canvas ni? Haaa, banyak. But for this simple steps, we'll be focusing on 4 tools.

 5. Basic Four

Silalah jegilkan mata masing masing. Tengok dalam petak kuning ittew. Focus pada yang dilabel nombor 1-4. Nombor 1, untuk kita add gambar pada canvas kosong tadi. Nombor 2, untuk kita add gambar yang dah disediakan oleh Photoscape. Nombor 3, balloon macam yang digunakan dalam gambor tu. Dan nombor 4, untuk kita add text. 

6. Add Items

So, I added the text first. Click on the image if you want to see clearer. Heheh. Yang bulatan dalam merah tu, boleh tarik tarik untuk besar or kecikkan tulisan. Sambil sambil design tu kan, boleh cuba the other features yang tak dimention. Baru cepat ingat and terbiasa nanti. Hehe

7. Add Photo

Click je dekat icon gambor tu and choose add photo. Lepas tu pilih lah mana mana photo yang y'all nak letak dalam gambor ni. Kalau takde gambor tu, download je.

 8. Arrange the Items

Lepas dah pilih apa yang y'all nak ada dalam gambar tu, susun la kan. This is one of the examples. Simple je. Letak je janji kemas and cantik di mata y'all. Kalau ada yang cakap tak cantik, bisik dekat dia 'Kau pun sama'. Lepas tu terus lari, okay? Kalau kena ligan dan kena taboh, bukan tanggungjawab iols. Ini cadangan sahaja. Then dah puas hati semua, save la gambar itu.

Dah siap pun gambar nya haa! Bangga tak dapat design gambar untuk sidebar sendiri? Ada tak rasa saiz lobang hidung bertambah mendadak? Kkkk guys, kalau dah siap mesti lah nak show off kan? Haha perangai musuh agama betul nak brag semua benda ni. Tapi dah siap cantik cantik tu nak la tampal dekat blog kan? Kalau tak buat apa berkecak ketiak buat cecantik lepas tu tak tampal? Unless memang design untuk wallpaper phone sendiri nak tatap 24 jam, Huhu. So senang je, kita log in Blog macam biasa.

9. Choose Layout

Dah log in blog memasing, click layout. 

10. Add Image Gadget

Dah bukak layout tu, click 'Add a Gadget' macam yang dilabel dalam petak kuning bernombor satu itu. Lepas tu akan keluar loads of options. Scroll sampai jumpa 'Image'. Click lah pilihan itu tanpa ragu ragu. 

 11. Edit Your Gadget

Dekat petak nombor satu, masukkan title untuk gambar tu. Nanti dekat sidebar kita, dia akan appear above the picture. Lepas tu dalam petak nombor dua tu, masukkan gambar yang kita berpenat lelah design tadi. Eheh. Kalau y'all nak direct orang lain ke post ataupun apa apa site lain, masukkan links yang berkaitan dalam petak atas petak kuning itu. Ada choice untuk link. So kalau kita letak link, bila readers tekan gambar tu, they all will be directed to the given link. Kalau tak, gambar tu statik je lah. Pasif tak berdaya apa.

12. Save it!

Dah settle, dah keluar gambor masterpiece y'all, click save. Lepas tu save arrangement. Nak tengok hasil sebenar benarnya, jangan gentar jangan bimbang, tengok je dekat sidebar blog ni. Ada contohnya. Gitu lah caranya nak letak gambar gambar dekat sidebar blog.

So, mudah sahaja kan? Dengan syarat nak kena ada photo editing application. Kalau nak fonts/tulisan cecantik, kenalah rajin rajin mencari and download. Nak download Photoscape, download SINI. Ikut je tep by step yang disuruh tanpa rasa syak wasangka dan was was. Gambar pun rajin rajin lah cari. Guna je Google Images. Nak guna gambar yang diambil sendiri pun boleh sahaja.

Sesiapa yang rasa susah nak design, takpe don't worry. Download je gambar dekat Google. Cumanya, possibility sama dengan gambar orang lain ada lah. Huhu. Nad kalau yang cecantik tu semestinya bertuan. Kalau tuannya tak izinkan, mati la nak. 

"Saya malas nak design and taknak sama dengan orang lain."

Blogging 101: Pages to Menu Bar

Assalamualaikum y'all.

Yeap. Still doing the basic tutorial but this one is special for my customers who asked me to design their blogs. Jadi mana mana yang tertanya tanya apa dia menu bar, apa dia pages tu, I'll explain it here. So, apa dia menu bar dan apa kaitannya dengan pages? Okay, I think I have stated it somewhere before. I learnt blog design myself by following the tutorials from Bicara Farah. She's simply marvelous! Antara yang Cik Farah ni ajar, buat menu bar. So menu bar yang diajar tu boleh di-decorate cecantik. Jadi takleh senang senang pakai gadget yang disediakan. Sebab dia tak boleh pakai gadget yang disediakan, menu bar ini akan dilink-kan dengan pages berkaitan ya.

My style if I design blog for people who have no or little experience is I will design the menu bar as well as create the pages linked to the menu bar. Jadi senanglah, tak payah my customers link kan pages diorang ke menu bar tu sendiri. Jadi perkara pertama yang kena faham, pages ni entry yang di link-kan ke menu bar tu. Okay seterusnya, boleh refer gambar.

1. Mana menu bar?

So you all, menu bar yang dalam petak kuning tu ya. Biasanya, yang di list kat menu bar tu benda penting penting lah. Apa function dio duduk dokek situ? Haa. Fungsinya supaya ekau ekau yang mombaco boleh terus click menu tu terus ke entry pasal apo yang ekau click haa. Jadi tak payah lah korang exercise jari jemari untuk scroll mencari benda benda penting begitu.

Jadinya, entry tu ditulis kat mana? My style, entry yang di link ke situ semua ditulis di pages. So, my darling customers hanya perlu update dekat pages yang namanya SAMA dengan choice dekat menu bar tu. Contohnya: Option Senarai Harga Shaklee, isi untuk option tu perlu ditulis di pages bertajuk Senarai Harga Shaklee. 

 2. Macam mana nak tulis entry untuk menu bar?

Macam biasa, log in ke account memasing. Click je dekat pages tu haa. Yang dekat sidebar belah kiri dalam petak kuning tu okayy? Nampak ya anak anak semua? Okay good.

 3. Tulis entry anda

Bila dah click Pages tu, akan terpampang lah semua semua isi iniiii. Makanya anak anak boleh la pilih isi yang mana anak anak nak update. Nanti isi yang diupdate tu akan keluar dekat option yang bernama sama di menu bar. Okay? Gittuhhh senang je. Tak perlu bimbang benda lain sebab I have already linked everything for your blog. Hiks.

I really hope I have explained it clearly. Basically my darlings, bukak je pages punya option tu, you will understand how to move around. Aicewah gitu. I am so happy that people are trusting me with their blogs which I myself can't do. As much as I adore the professional blog designers I will always return to my own ability and skills which are most of the times, crappy. Heheh

Blogging 101: How To Post an Entry

Assalamualaikum y'all!

I'm currently in my semester break. And Allah is so Merciful and Generous that He showers me with loads of rezeki. One of it is people asking me to make up their blogs. I am more than happy to do that because; One, I can easily fill my time and two, I got paid. Yeayyy! Hehe. Some of the lovely people who asked me to make up their blogs told me that they have very basic exposure to blogging. So they asked me to teach me how to blog. Rather than teaching one by one, I find it's easier to blog about it and let others read from this post.

1. First, mestilah kena sign in account Blogger dulu.

Sign in macam biasa. Bukak Blogger, click sign in dekat atas dalam petak putih tu, masukkan email and password. Kalau pakai email @gmail tu, password blogger sama sahaja dengan password email ya temen temen.

2. Click New Post

Click terus dekat new post untuk tulis entry baru.

 3. Type your entry.

Haa. Dah sampai sini tulis aje lah apa yang nak ditulis. Jangan tulis fitnah sudehh. Petak nombor 1 tu untuk tajuk. Tulislah tajuk apa apa pun yang rasa menarik dan memudahkan orang cari blog kita.  Petak nombor 2 tu untuk kita taip entry. Petak 3 pulak untuk tulis label. Label ni function dia macam hashtag or categories. So bila dah tulis label kat situ, semua post yang berkongsi label sama akan keluar bila kita click label tu. Ada paham?

4. Schedule Your Post

Satu cara lain untuk post, adalah guna schedule post ni. Kadang kadang bila kita dah tahu kita akan busy untuk lima enam hari akan datang tapi still rasa macam nak blog kita ni ber-update, boleh lah guna schedule post ni. Click je dekat option 'set date and time' tu, lepas tu pilih lah bila korang nak post tu diupdate. So masa free tu tulis bebanyak post, set tarikh awal awal. Nanti bila busy tak sempat update pun, blog still nampak berupdate. Takdelah readers tengok sunyi macam gua.

So dah siap tulis title, tulis entry, tulis label and set tarikh, click la publish tu. Barulah orang lain boleh baca apa yang kita tulis. Gittew.

I think that's all for this post. I sincerely hope that this will help people who are very new to blogging. I learnt blogging through tutorials as well and I find it is more helpful and taught me better than learning directly from other people. You will face some difficulties, there's no doubt about that, but what's life without some challenges, eh? Just keep going and rajin rajinkanlah go through blog tutorial. Lama lama akan biasa dengan all the features. :)

It's been so long since I last updated my blog. I have finished my first semester and is now waiting for my result which I am really nervous about. Pheww. Anyway, there are loads of lovely people asking me to design their blogs and I realised that most of them are really new to blogging (not like I'm that pro but I know a thing or two). So, I am going to have a new section where I will give step by step instructions to basic skills of blogging. Again, I'm not a pro so what I will be posting in this section will be the most basic thing to some of you out there.

So, one of the famous questions is how to track your blog views? Of course, when you write you will be very excited to know who are reading, how many people are reading, innit? You can track them simply by following these steps.

1. Overview Page

Log in to your blogger account. See the left sidebar? Focus on the rectangle options with number 1. Then you can see all the numbers and stats. In the rectangle number 2, you can see the summary for your blog views. Now, we don't want to live in a dream forever, right? Makanya, clicklah dekat option nombor 3 yang bergaris merah itu.

 2. Your Own Page View

Dalam petak merah tu, ada option tick/untick. So, sila tick that tiny little square. Why? Because, if you choose to track your own pageviews, you'll never know for real how many readers you actually have. Yelah, kadang kadang suka bukak baca blog sendiri. So bila tak track view kita sendiri, kita tak dapat the real number for readers' views sebab dah bercampur dengan view kita sendiri. 

That's for the overview. Now if you want to check the views for each of your post, follow these steps.

 3. View for Each Post

Again, left sidebar. Click posts. So akan display segala post yang kita pernah publish and belum publish. Focus in that red rectangle 2. Ada balloon talk punya shape, mata and date. So, the balloon talk is for comment. Nombor yang dekat sebelah shape tu indicate how many comments you have for that post. Yang bentuk mata tu, indicate views. Number kat sebelah tu indicate post views. 

So, basically that's it for How To Track Your Blog Views. I'll be posting more of this kind of posts because it's a whole lot easier for me to let people to directly read this tutorial rather than explaining the steps to every single people who are asking through whatsapp which can be read wrong. To make it short, I am actually lazy hahah. Now by posting this kind of posts can relive my blog in some ways. LOL #desperateforideas.
